This CD is all Music Instrumental. Farid Hamidat is a Rai Music Producer .The Word Rai means “my way “or ” my opinion”. The Rai Music Was born a hundred years ago in North Africa originally from the western of Algeria .The Rai was an expression movement of poets, and singers from the 1900.Rai singers or poets called chiekh or chikha ( for women singers)like the famous regretted (Cheikha Remitti) talks about love poetery, and Bedouin folk’s and also religious poetry. The Rai was performed at that time with few traditional instruments like the flute, called Gasba made of rosewood, and one or two traditional percussion called Gallal and bendir, performed by personnel accompanists of famous cheikh (like cheikh Ain Tedless,Khaldi,Mammeri )or cheikhat (Cheikha Djenia,Remitti) .In the 1950 the modern rai was born with the introduction of the violin ,accordion, and piano and also the Oud played on quarter notes (Arabic scale ).The new modern Rai, was a fusion of the Wahrani which was originally a Melhoune’s that was mixed not only with other Arab musical influences but also with Spanish, French and Latin American Music. In the late 70’s beginning 80’s the electric guitar and drums was introduced in the rai music and also the trumpet (Belemou) bringing others styles like reggae,pop, rock,(Raina Rai,Rachid & Fethi.The students).The Rai became the new music for the new expressive generation, and played in the cabarets and resorts in western Algeria and French .The Rai actually has changed considerably from it’s deep origin roots and obscure music at that time to our days which is now worldwide known’s thanks to artist like Cheb khaled ,cheb Mami,The duo Sahrawoui and Fadila who took the Rai music to the international level and the most world music claimed in particular in the European continent, the middle east (Egypt) and some parts of Asia like Japan. (The Rai was introduced in Japan and China in the 80’s).The Rai unknown in the united state instead well accepted in others parts of the globe as a music style like reggae, rap or blues. Because of its origin lyrics from street language using a mixture of French, Arabic and some Spanish words,and can’t be understood by other parts of the world and in particular the Middle East. The Rai sound was born with all of that mixture of new sounds of synthesizers and drums machines that what people like most about it, bringing the past and the present together.

Farid in this album try to introduce the sound of rai, that is actually played internationally, with a mixture of flavor from salsa like “Rai Raikoum” “El Bahia” and some Spanish melodies “Bahja “or “Sahrawi” ,”Dawini “African western music mixed with Electronica Music . This album bring to us most of the Rai which is very wide in styles influences and flavor, and also the virtuosic performance and interpretation of the Artist, the mix and the organization of the sounds and melodies.
