简介
Brothas Keepa proudly presents their sophomore CD, “The Re-Education of the Negro." This CD provides poems, skits, hip hop, jazz and soul that it so informative that it will not only entertain, but re-educate those who listen. The sole purpose of this CD is to put an end to the many mythical stereo-types that have been placed upon Blacks. Brothas Keepa wants to let the youth know that we are indeed a great people with an infinite history. This CD will let the children know that there is no need to continue to fulfill the falsehoods that have placed upon Blacks. Audiences of all ages have been mesmerized by the theatrical and spoken word teachings of Ayele and J’malo. Recognized by Clear Channel Memphis as K97 Peace Achievers of the Month for December 2005, this dynamic duo has traveled the nation attempting to spark minds to partake of positivity. In September 2005, they opened for The Last Poets in Memphis.Recently, Brotha’s Keepa was a featured act during the Tuskegee University/Project EXPORT HIV/AIDS Health and Wellness Black Belt Tour in Alabama. In 2007 they wrote and produced the play ‘Why we Die." Along with their performances, Brotha’s Keepa also holds many charitable events in the Mid-South. Every other Sunday they feed the homeless at an abandoned lot located in Downtown Memphis, TN. Every summer they hold youth theatre camps and talent shows in order to give youth a positive outlet for their energies. They also run a youth prison prevention program in order to show the youth that prison is not a badge of honor. To date they have taken over 1,000 youth on the prison tour. Also to date the prison prevention program has enjoyed a huge success rate. Brothas Keepa receives no grant monies in order to fund these programs. It is the hopes of Brothas Keepa that the community as a whole will support their sophomore CD in order to keep these programs going in a successful manner. Thank you in advance for your help concerning our children. Brothas keepa
