"The 8-bar Award" short music contest was held with only one entry requirement: "8 bars". The judges included m-flo's *Taku Takahashi, Man With A Mission's DJ Santa Monica, BANVOX, buzzG, and other professionals in various genres, and the event was sponsored by TuneCore Japan, Crypton Future Media, and others in collaboration with Nico Nico Douga and nana. TuneCore Japan, Crypton Future Media, etc. were invited as sponsors. The winning songs were selected from a total of 2,400 entries in 4 categories under strict screening by a panel of judges.
