Raised on the east side of Oklahoma City J Rolla has a passion for music that goes as far back as grade school. Recording on his laptop and playing the songs he was writing for his friends, J Rolla saw their genuinely excited reaction. “Some friends heard the songs and approached me, and we went from recording in my aunt's closet to a real studio.” Now recording in earnest, J Rolla was gathering skill as a songwriter, artist and producer taking his influences, like Walter Taylor, Tupac and Killa Tay, and using them to shape his own style. I am an artist and have a love for any music that comes from the heart” As his name grew in and around the OKC area, the pieces began to fall in place for J Rolla. He has been a part of several collaborations that have led to an ever-increasing local audience. J Rolla has performed at numerous local venues, the most recent being an opening act for Lil Boosie's appearance in Oklahoma City. His latest release Ghetto Gold is takin the local market by storm. Ghetto Gold is this summers hot new song that within a week of it's release has become the most requested song on O-City's KVSP 103.5.
