When I graduated from college I had a bad desire to pursue music but was distracted by the want to become rich and successful. Months prior to finishing my last college memories, I was offered a job to work with my father, a very successful general contractor, with the goal in mind of company ownership at a near time in the future. Before that date arrived, the economy slumped and I found myself worried about the future. I decided to go out on my own and figure it out. Over a summer of cleaning toilets, digging ditches, building fences, life-guarding, housesitting, etc. I found myself again with a desire to make music. I took three weeks off all jobs and I wrote this album. It was my masterpiece. I had assembled an album that defined the state I was in and the heartache that so many around me were facing. Best described in my opening track "Saddy", the anti-hero Saddy, a boy who loved music, was told he was not a man unless he rolled up his sleeves and got dirty. In "The Great Divorce" a counselor and his best friend converse over the desire of the flesh. With lyrics such as, "The media machine has got your number, selling sex and pretty thighs", the counselor urges true love.
