Han Guolian has been described as “one of the most prominent flutists in the world.” He graduated from the Central Conservatory School of Music in Beijing, studying there under Wang Yongxin. In 1988 he won a scholarship to study a Masters Degree at the Boston University School for the Arts. After graduating, he was active among many American orchestras, winning prizes in several national and international flute competitions. He has studied under the famous flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal and other world-class teachers. In recent years, Han Guoliang has performed in Europe, U.S. and Asia. With China National Symphonic Orchestra he has performed with world-class masters Charles Dutoit, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Seiji Ozawa, Rostropovich, Li Delun and others, both in China and abroad. In the last 20 years he has recorded many outstanding records and worked with several famous modern Chinese composers. Han Guoliang is currently flute professor at the Central Conservatory of Music and principal flutist of the China National Symphonic Orchestra. He is also President of China Flute Association
