Liz Callaway salutes her Broadway roots with hits from “Hair” and “Promises, Promises”, and on this re-release, offers 2 bonus tracks: “Here, There and Everywhere” by the Beatles, and "Feed the Birds" from Mary Poppins. They used to call them records…. I look back at 1969 as one of the greatest years of my life. Man walked on the moon, my beloved Mets won the World Series, and best of all, Santa brought me my very own “stereo set”. I then began assembling what was to become a rather eclectic record collection. My first “LP “ was the original cast recording of “Hair.” I also listen to The Beatles, anything by the Fifth Dimension, Eydie Gorme, the speeches of Martin Luther King, even “The Cincinnati Bengals sing Christmas Carols.” And, I have especially fond memories of a Buddy Rich album featuring his 12 year-old daughter singing “The Beat Goes On.” I told you my collection was eclectic! Well, anyone who knows me will tell you that I have been dying to do an album of my favorite songs of the '60s for years. At long last, here it is. Some might argue that this was really just an excuse for me to fulfill my fantasy of recording “Downtown”. They may be right.
