Despite some beautiful and surprisingly hard-rocking music that was sort of new wave melodic, however, there wasn't enough interest or activity to sustain this phase of Browne's career. By the middle of the decade, Browne had moved into the field of film and television scoring, and worked on Jonathan Miller's series Madness, among other productions.
