With the country music mainstream scene allowing room for pop and rock styles to filter into it, the traditional country music fans have sort of been pushed aside as artist’s that are steeped in tradition are few and far between in the market today. However, Easton Corbin provided a breath of fresh air when he broke out into the mainstream in 2010 with a style that was a throwback of sorts to the traditional sound and due to it, he found chart success with back-to-back number one’s out of the gate with “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.” Now two years later, Corbin is ready to release his highly anticipated, sophomore album All Over The Road that has already earned attention much in part due to its fast-rising, summertime, lead single “Lovin’ You Is Fun.” It doesn’t take but one listen to this batch of songs see that the traditional inspired sound Corbin brought to listeners the first go around is present here as well. Songs like title track “All Over The Road,” which opens the album, through to “Tulsa Texas” or “A Thing For You” all showcase his traditional influences and bring them to the light even more so at times than what we have already heard from him in the past. Easton Corbin caught ears of the neo-traditional fans instantly and rather than trying to expand and experiment with his sound on All Over The Road, he instead chooses to stick to what he does best and delivers a batch of 11 songs that are simply an extension of his debut album. Where so many artists talk about wanting to find a more country sound within their music, Easton Corbin, by just being who he is, has the sound that they are looking for. This album is refreshing in the ever changing market that is country music and it is simply just straight, forward country songs sung by a youngster that clearly has an old soul.
