简介

The real vox humana in the form of a crystal-clear soprano voice, heard in harmony with its mechanical imitator with all the ranks of organ pipes to which the king of instruments owes its majesty; complex lines and chords, crafted into smoothness, and above it a simple, lyrical vocal line rising in garlands in order to tell of eternal mysteries. This is the new production with which Carine Tinney and Martin Gregorius make their recording debut with PASCHENrecords. Composers from the USA, England, Scotland, France and Germany meet in their desire to capture the transformative power of music, and several of them, in doing so, surprise the listener by an unexpected intimacy – as if the sheer simplicity of the musical means has removed all intellectual ballast. Even Max Reger, often so difficult, dissolves into tender poetry. The Scottish-Maltese soprano Carine Tinney studied singing in Edinburgh and Detmold. She has performed as soloist in Europe, the United States and Asia with conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, Emmanuelle Haim and Jonathan Cohen. The concert organist and church musician Martin Gregorius was awarded distinction in his final examinations at the music schools of Gdansk and Detmold and at the Paris and Lyon conservatoires. He has won prizes in numerous organ competitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Poland. These two musicians now come together to devote themselves to the unearthing and extension of the literature for soprano and organ, and are shaping their own musical language.
