Ian Gott's music comes from a profoundly deep story. Music runs in his family blood. As a young child he was captivated listening to his mother play and sing. Soon after that he began learning country blues and folk. He studied the works of old school fingerstyle players such as Doc Watson and Leo Kottke and was inspired to start creating his own music. After buying his first electric guitar he began diving into the world of classic rock. Growing up in New York City he soon became very interested in jazz and hip hop and began his process to apply to Berklee College of Music. After being accepted he studied jazz guitar performance there for two years before returning home to New York. A year later, He moved to Los Angeles to pursue music and was introduced to his mentor and producer Prashant Aswani, Prashant inspired him to dig deep. Both as a player, but primaraly as a songwriter and helped Ian Gott shape his style. Ian's debut album "Transparency" has been over a decade in the making and combines elements from many genres while retaining a cohesive production.
