简介

On this delicious seasonal album, Christmas is Everywhere, longtime friends and co-writers, Jack Froschauer and Dale Walton, collaborate to deliver fourteen fresh, new holiday songs. Drawing on personal experience, popular Christmas subjects, imagination and seasonal themes they've crafted lyrical perspective with polished arrangements that will leave you wishing for more. Performing as Jack & Dale, the veteran singer/songwriters swap vocals, song-to-song, with contrasting vocal styles that provide the album with an interesting ebb and flow. Walton's powerhouse, rock-tinged delivery contrasts to Froschauer's folksy, choirboy styling in a manner that's reminiscent of so many other great duos. As they move through the playlist, it's unquestionable that they're having fun performing their original compositions; and, chances are that after a song or two, you'll be having fun right along with them. ABOUT JACK & DALE DALE WALTON: Dale grew up in the Forest Park area of Dayton, Ohio. He began playing the guitar when he was 8 years old; and, it wasn't long before he was performing at birthday parties and school talent shows. Ask Dale when his rock 'n roll odyssey began; and, without hesitation, he'll answer, 'February 9, 1964'. That moment in time profoundly influenced his life as he sat in front of the television, mesmerized by The Beatles: John, Paul, George and Ringo as they performed on the Ed Sullivan show. Through high school, Walton pursued his musician career goal, playing in a long list of garage bands while occasionally performing at the fabled Icelandia Rink. As time moved along, he discovered the line-up he sought had been right before his eyes as his brother, Allan, and neighborhood friends: Jackie Wray and Scott Levine filled out the roster for 2nd Wind. The band toured the tri-state region for several years, all the while, Dale continued composing a playlist of original numbers to supplement the foundation 'cover' songs. As their reputation swelled they began releasing those original songs on a series of popular albums. The albums and songs enjoyed strong radio airplay and solid fan support. Several of the songs placed on the Billboard charts, most notably 2nd Wind's biggest hit, Whispers. Dale Walton's 2nd Wind reorganized as members pursued alternate interests. That new line-up toured the country for a time, eventually coming off the road and reestablishing their local base in the Miami Valley. Dale took a day job as the manager of Gem City Records in the Oregon district and remained in that position for a quarter century until the company closed. Back in Dayton, Dale reunited with old friends and players, performing and entertaining with The Cleaver Brothers, The Outlets; and, most recently My 3 Sons and The Rubbles. During his illustrious career, Walton has performed with his bands as an opener for Bob Seger, Herman's Hermits, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Grassroots, Three Dog Night, The Guess Who and many other national recording acts. These days, Dale continues to write and encourages the pursuits of his wife, Lesley, a renowned charcoal and oil painting artist. He also enjoys the musical band endeavors of his sons: Zachary and Evan 'Big Ev' as they pursue a familiar dream. JACK FROSCHAUER: Jack grew up in Trotwood, a NW suburb of Dayton, OH. When he was 9 years old, he received an acoustic guitar for Christmas. It wasn't long before he was playing the popular folk songs of the day. As the British Invasion swept over America, he traded his hollow body for an electric Gibson SG; and, somehow persuaded his Mom to let the musicians practice in the family's living room. Eventually the revolving line-up settled down and Froschauer enjoyed the chance to play out frequently at popular Dayton clubs, The Caverns and Dungeon at Forest Park. Toward the end of high school, Froschauer played with his bands in a number of the popular Battle of the Bands contests at various Miami Valley venues. His Royal Tyde band won a contest west of Dayton; and, enjoyed the privilege of performing on a show with The Lemonpipers, touring with their hit, Green Tambourine. During college, Jack's performing gradually lessened and became more of an occasional hobby. After college, Froschauer owned and operated his family business, Car-Go Auto Supply. Car-Go grew to a 4 store automotive parts chain, serving the Miami Valley, until closing in 1998. Over the years, he's continued playing guitar and piano, all the while adding to his catalogue of original songs. In 1992, he recruited family and friend musicians to record the album, Moment in the Sun. One cut from the album, Gotchee Goochie, received moderate radio airplay on stations in the Ohio/Indiana markets. For a number of years, he operated a publishing company pitching to the Nashville labels. During that period, he made the acquaintance of a host of record industry executives, as well as many wonderful country hopefuls, several of whom have achieved national prominence and remain friends from those days. Subsequent to the Nashville days, he launched Dream Machine mobile music services in the Dayton market. In that capacity, he's enjoyed the privilege of acting as MC/DJ at hundreds of wedding receptions, corporate affairs, anniversary parties and dances, sustaining his love of music of all kinds. These days, Jack encourages the musical aspirations of his Grandkids: Allen, Michael and Paige. For fun, he travels to auctions and sales collecting electric trains, instruments and vinyl record albums. JACK & DALE: The fellas met while employed by the long defunct, Goldman's Bargain Barn {DAYTON. OH} discount store chain. Dale was in charge of record distribution while Jack was the automotive buyer for the company. They hit it off right away largely due to their similar interests: music, guitars, WTUE, Beatles music, the Cincinnati Reds, pet rocks and playing Pacman. Their friendship has sustained for decades [and, they won't say how many]. From time to time, they play golf together [not very well]; but, that's always good reconnect time for them, since it takes hours for 9 holes. They've commiserated over life's bright moments and shared times that weren't quite perfect. 15 years ago, they tried a songwriting collaboration that didn't click. Over the years, both writers have accumulated individual catalogues filled with hundreds of independently written songs. The mellowing effect of the years placed them in a time to try co-writing again. Their original plan was to work together to complete several unfinished Christmas musical works. Once those initial three songs were done, they didn't want to stop. They were having fun and enjoying the give and take, so they continued to write. It became customary for them to have a daily conversation, hoping that another new idea might be reason for more composing. The songs just kept on comin' and before they knew it, they had completed a volume of winter/holiday compositions. At that point, it seemed like a good idea to stop writing and start recording, as Jack and Dale decided to record an album. The guys swap vocals as they agreed whose performance might best translate their work. The project took on a magical spirit that now promises lovers of holiday music in America and around the world a whole new exciting collection of delight. Jack & Dale are excited to share what they've known all along, and discovered, all over again ... Christmas is Everywhere.
