su na is the moniker of Alec Ness, a Minneapolis based producer, DJ and Ableton Certified Trainer. After attending university for music composition, he moved to San Francisco in 2013 and began releasing music under the name su na. Subsequently he released numerous remixes and compilation singles, the first of which appeared on Spazzkid’s Desire Remixes album. The sound of su na’s music has been described as clean, lush and synth-heavy. Emphasizing shuffle and nodding toward inspirations of UK Garage, Hip Hop and Future Rnb. In late 2013, Ness became an Ableton Certified Trainer and began teaching music. This established a turning point in his career, and began a more serious pursuit in music production. The next year, he released a single “Lust x Oleander” with vocalist Maesu. It was positively received, and the duo followed up with “Attached” a two track ep on Flow-Fi’s Tape Track series. su na’s second ep "Meridian" is due for release September 23rd on Syzygy Records.
