Unlike the previous two albums The Black Lion Chronicles Chapter 1: Respect Your Legacy and The Black Lion Chronicles Chapter 2: The Second Son, Chapter 3 highlights a different side to the rapper, who’s already had hit songs featuredin TV series True Blood, Graceland and Shameless. The brand new album is best described as a “fusion of Hip Hop, Reggae and Electronic Dance sounds” The album oscillates between chill and hype songs that really keeps the audience on their toes. “The Black Lion Chronicles Chapter 4: Choose Love” definitely has an old school feel to the compositions that is rare in hip-hop today. I personally admire when talented artists can bring back traditional styles of music and transform them into something new and authentic. I think the word to describe this group would be refreshing and Blee has definitely found his true north in the hip-hop genre. You can tell that Blee puts in a lot of work, not only in the studio, but on an engineering aspect as well. The instrumentals are very clear and the vocals really cut through the mixes, which is uncommon of independent artists today.
