Shaley Scott’s sound can be described as piano pop-rock, acoustic, blues, and electronic--all rolled up into one--with memorable melodies and hooks that are hard to forget. Her use of piano with guitar, paints a melodic picture that is unique, yet recognizable. She likes to call it piano/soul...or, piano FOR the soul. Shaley, grew up in the town of Fort Collins, Colorado. She started performing at the age of five and as a trained dancer and self-taught musician, entered the Colorado Academy of the Arts, where she would train every day after school. In her spare time, Shaley started writing songs on the piano, and landed a spot on a local cable channel, where they started featuring her original music at only 14 years old. "I think that was the moment I knew what I was supposed to do. It all seemed so magical to me. It was like a light switch had clicked on and from that day forward, my singing and song writing became my first priority." She later received a music scholarship to Colorado State University, and entered college as a music major. “...But, when I finally got to college, it was as if there was a voice inside me, telling me I needed to be somewhere else," says Shaley. So, she packed up her car, and moved to Los Angeles. During her time in LA, she went on to win a few radio contests, collaborated with multiple artists, toured Southern California and Vegas, and got placements in TV and movie projects. One of her notable achievements was the placement of one of her original songs in the horror/thriller “The Hitchhiker”, in which she also played the leading role. As of late, Shaley has teamed up with Anthony Lavin of the British band “The Filthy Souls” to form “Welcome To Winter”. They were recently nominated for the "Hollywood Music In Media Awards" for two of their original songs right after their first EP was produced. They continue to work together, as a side project--and enjoy writing and producing together, in their home studios. Shaley now spends her time in both Colorado and Los Angeles, and is working on a new EP with The Shaley Scott Band. She's also recording a children's CD, and an original musical, among other things.
