Imagine if back in 1974, if David Gilmour, Klaus Schulze, Manual Gottsching, Florian Fricke, Robert Fripp, Edgar Froese, Richard Sinclair, John Wetton, Robert Wyatt & Bill Bruford got together and jammed while the tapes were rolling. Well, fast forward to the present, take members from the premiere US space rock bands and musicians who have toured with Hawkwind and Nik Turner, took them to a beautiful, remote location, locked them in a studio, and told them to jam. What do you think you’d get? Secret Saucer. Secret Saucer is a spacerock “All Star Band” whose members have: -toured with Hawkwind, Nik Turner, Pressurehed/Farflung -who have recorded with Star Nation, Nick Riff -are/were members of Star Nation, Quarkspace, Architectural Metaphor, Church of Hed, National Steam, and Sun Machine. The musicians on this disc got together for one weekend and JAMMED! People just picked up whatever instrument they felt like playing at the time and jammed, therefore the music is pure improvisational spacerock/krautrock. Over a dozen hours of music was recorded, but has been distilled down to this, our first CD. These are not mindless, wandering spacejams but cohesive and focused. Listen to the music and see that Secret Saucer combines strong melodies that give the music the feel of a structured song but also has improvised jamming and sound textures that takes it to the outer reaches of the galaxy!
