The art of "Symphonic Pop" is something special, and both composers and conductors know: The most difficult music is the so-called "light music", because everything that comes along in a seemling easygoing way is hard work to achieve. Most Orchestras and Conductors of today have specialized in a certain fields of music and they rarely cross the borders. But there was a time when it was a "conditio sine qua non" for musicians and conductors to master every genre of music equally. A fact that certainly applied for all radio station related orchestras who had to master Beethoven today and Gershwin tomorrow.
