It is his take on the ultimate power ballad / torch song, the creation of which has allowed him to unlock a new sound and style building atop the momentous release of his 2017 debut EP "In Tongues" and his follow-up single "YEAH RIGHT", which have since amassed over 258.3M--overwhelmingly organic--plays from his dedicated fanbase. Performed for the first time in May 2018 at Blurry Visions festival in Oakland, CA, "Slow Dancing in the Dark" is one of Joji's most highly-anticipated releases to date, with bootleg copies from his performance of the song already garnering over half a million views and inspiring covers and remakes.
