Let me know what you think... your feedback is wanted. thanks and respect. -Dox Growing up in NYC in the late eighties and early nineties, hip-hop culture was inescapable for unAuthordox. By high school he'd started graffiti writing, freestyling, and hanging out with various crews, until 1999 when he formed a group called Upwerd Avalanche. unAuthordox soon got his hand on an MPC and began to bang out beats, producing two demos for his new group. The more Dox got into making music however, the more creative control and artistic freedom he desired, and ultimately a solo career became his only viable option for making his own version of the music he loved. He recorded his first solo EP, the self-produced Heart-thru-Tunnel Syndrome, back in 2000. And managed to sell over 500 copies through hand-to-hand sales and now defunct websites like www.strictlyug.net and www.hiphopinfinity.com. Hip-hop heads, artists, and critics alike embraced the album. Off the strength of this release Dox forged relationships with likeminded producers, DJs, and emcees like Jezuz & DJ Merf, Rob Viktum, Orphan & the Plague Language crew, and the Moth. He was soon featured on the Moth's production album Chapter One: Evolution alongside underground favorites like Sankofa, iCON the Mic King, Athena, JON?DOE, and LA Symphony. And he began touring New England and various cities along the east coast with Jezuz and DJ Merf, (performing along side artists such as Sage Francis, the Qn5 collective (Tonedeff, Pack fm, etc.), Roosevelt Franklin, Anticon, and plenty more) all the while sending out new material to college radio stations. In 2003 he decided to release his own mixtape, featuring exclusive material from major hip hop artists like Craig G, Abstract Rude, and Sean Price as well new material from himself, and underground favorites like Ayentee and Canibus. In the winter of 2003/2004 he completed his Help...The EP LP, and went on tour for six weeks (doing 20+ shows along the east coast and mid west) promoting it, spending four weeks on the road with K-The-I??? of Komadose and Nephlim Modulation Systems (Big Dada Records) and then another two weeks on the road with FuseOne and Unsung of Pittsburgh and Delaware respectively. The tour traveled up and down the eastern seaboard and Midwest through eleven states and up into Canada. While on tour unAuthordox was able to move close to 1000 copies of his new project in cities that might not have heard of him before he donned the stage in their respective venues. Aside from nearing the official release of his Help... The EP LP, UnAuthordox is currently working on a number of projects in 08 and wants to let everyone know THE BRAIN KAVE will be a force to be reckoned with in 08! www.myspace.com/unauthordox
