In 2013, I embarked in a year long journey to release a song every single month. I called it “A Single Album in a Single Year.” I thought it would be fun to approach a project this way because I love making songs in many styles and genres, and this was a way to put out any kind of song I wanted to without worrying about a cohesive style. It is also a call-back to the 50’s and 60’s when releasing singles was the way to put music out. It was not an easy task, but it was so much fun and creatively fulfilling. I got to collaborate with so many amazing people on this. I also pulled a number of all-nighters by myself in the studio to make this happen. This isn’t an album in the sense that we have come to understand. It is a collection of singles.
