Ruth Ferris Armstrong is a teacher, singer, pianist, arranger, and composer. Her piano compositions are melodic and intelligent. She infuses the styles of new classical, jazz, and pop. Suitable for theme songs, background music, or listening to while sitting in a hot tub, the songs evoke diverse feelings. Her vocal style on "Iowa Dreams" is smooth and Karen Carpenter-like.
