Russia, with its long and rich tradition to music from folk to classical, is going through a kind of renaissance producing interesting artists with a cool original sound and dramatic melodics. Ellez Marinni & Tellur present their freshest progressive grooves on this single release "Tea & Lemon". The original mix is based on a couple of main elements; a metallic pluck riff and a melodic counter-theme first presented by a soft piano. These two play in an evolving dialogue together, further modulated by the the bassline which eventually gives the tune its crispy harmonies and emotional power. The release comes with alternative remixes from both the original producers, and Sound Quelle, who delivers his version with solid drive and some interesting dissonating harmonies. Tellur's remix flashes some of the melodic delicacies of the original mix, but is mainly a loud banger with a stomping bassline and tech FXs. The Ellez Marinni remix is the toughest in the bundle, offering something for DJs and connoisseurs of a more grinding techno sound - the melodics have a psychedelic vibe while the bass and perc sections strike a relentless march rhythm.
