David J. Smith (aka 24thElement) the Los Angeles based multi instrumentalist producer is a Classically trained pianist, guitarist, bass player and sound engineer who crafts grooves with mostly self made samples and loops. As an Los Angeles Recording School grad, his studio experience includes tenures at such legendary recording studios like Track records, The Enterprise Studios and Larrabee Sound assisting on projects for Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Dr. Dre, Heavy D, IMX, Scarface and Jermaine Jackson. 24th also composes for TV with credits including 'A&E', 'TMC' and 'TLC'. "Recalcitrance" is the long awaited solo debut album. It encompasses a unique electronic sonic journey. Along the way visiting such diverse places as Ambient, Glitch, House and Funk. Recorded in Los Angeles 2014 and 2015 the labor of "Recalcitrance" has been 24th's revelation of personal discovery from guitarist to Producer/DJ and analog torch bearer to digital guru.
