Key themes in Awaken's ministry are freedom, honesty, and focused worship. Worship is more than music - it is a lifestyle for Awaken. They want to bring life to those who are trapped in ritual and religion that have no power. The band chose the name Awaken based on their strong desire to awaken God's people from the dead, to freedom and the relationship that He desires. "Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." - Ephesians 5:14 Bio Awaken, a worship band from Tuscaloosa, AL hopes to use their music to lead people into worship and a vital relationship with God. The original members met in a college jazz band ensemble about 2 1/2 years ago and found two more players in a church in Tuscaloosa. The first worship service they ever led together was at a Jr. High Christian Fellowship in Tuscaloosa. They got together the night before the service and the band really clicked well together. The Lord is continuing to bless their music and their ministry. Awaken recorded in Nashville, TN at the prestigious Omnisound Studios. Since releasing their self-titled cd in 2004, Awaken has opened for Telecast, Shane Barnard, Shaun Groves, and Ginny Owens. Chase, the band's guitarist, says, "We can't deny the Lord's strong power and presence. We realize that it is not us but Him and we choose to let Him use us."
