Born in Hollis,Oklahoma his family moved to Amarillo, Texas, when he was still young were he grew up, after graduation Terry moved to Los Angles to pursue a singing career. His first big hit was "Suspicion" it sold over one million records and went to #3 on the billboard charts. Terry signed with Atlantic Records country division where he recorded " Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose" He wrote and recorder "Amarillo By Morning" and "Big In Vegas" all three were later recorded by Tony Orlando and Dawn, George Strait, and Buck Owens.He recorded several albums for Atlantic and also appeared in the movie "Wild Wheels". Terry's mgr. John Fisher also an Indie producer lived in Nashville were he recorded songs for independent songwriters and label Co's.Terry commuted back and fourth to put the vocal tracks on some of those songs, That is how this song got recorded with all the excellent Nashville pickers as backup.
