The American Swing World knew two great masters of the Clarinet: Benny Goodman and Woody Herman! Other than Goodman, Woody Herman and his bands - which je quite frequently called "The Herd"- often played music that was cutting edge and experimental for its time; they received numerous Grammy nominations and awards. They were voted best swing band in 1945 Down Beat poll; Silver Award by critics in 1946 and 1947 Esquire polls; they won Metronome poll, band division, 1946 and 1953 - just to mention a few. So it is time for a tribute to Woddy and "The Herd" by remastering 24 of his greatest tracks in High Definition and bring them together as Vol. 5 in our "The Swing Band Collection".
