Dmitry Evgrafov专辑介绍：Lying On Your Shoulder is the debut release from Dmitry Evgrafov, a prodigious young talent hailing from Moscow, who imparts into his music a maturity which seems grounded by practice far beyond his years… The seventeen year old musician has been writing music for three years but only now feels ready to offer his work to the world. This mature and patient approach is mirrored in Lying On Your Shoulder, the artist proving to be both a tasteful and very capable composer. Citing influences such as Arvo Pärt, La Monte Young, Goldmund and Nils Frahm, should Evgrafov prove to live up to the promise shown on this EP, then he may well look forward to being held within such esteem as those names in the future. Evgrafov’s playing has a timeless quality and is perhaps less markedly contemporary than some of his influences. Indeed, Evgrafov’s style is more akin to the minimalism of Philip Glass’s solo piano pieces rather than the experimentalism seen in some modern artists. The artist knows to make use of silence as an instrument in its own right and employs it well here. Despite a penchant for the melancholic, Evgrafov’s playing is upbeat overall and strings are used sparingly in a complimentary manner effectively, as on the opening number While The Glacier Was Melting. Each following number is as beautiful as it’s predecessor and overall provide a moving whole on this all too brief EP. Though time will tell if the promise shown here is to continue to grow, on the basis of this faultless offering, one gets the impression that Dmitry Evgrafov will become an important contributor to his generation’s neo-classical movement.
