I wrote my first song at the age of 17. Since then my songwriting has evolved continuously as the my life experience has progressed. The songs on this album come from a time of transition for me, away from the work-day world to a time where I was just beginning to "follow my joy". That joy is playing music, especially my music. I feel it is a great privilege to communicate in this way. It does bring great joy. My hope is that I can bring joy to others through this music. Here are some notes about each song: Avalanche: Avalanche is a very small town in southwestern Wisconsin. I do plan on living there someday soon. Clumsy and Wrong: Inspired by my inability to concentrate on a home-based part time job I once had. The chorus speaks a truth for me. One Life to Love: Inspired by the book "Learning to Fall" by Philip Simmons. He was a very brave man with an amazing philosophy. Here it Is: A song which is about the wonders of the very beginning of a love. I Pledge Allegiance: We are all here on this planet together one human family. Michael and Maggie: A story about those two. It ends happily, don't worry. Falling Away: Based on a vision I had. I saw the planet earth suspended in space. Darkness surrounded it and then I saw the darkness falling away like the peel on an orange. Baptism: Have a new start, every day. Just Behind the Veil: Many of us hide behind one to survive. It's great when you can step out from behind it. Advent of Forever: Love brings wonderful changes into my life.
