It started as an idea. A concept. A vision. An imaginary dream in the mind of a man. This idea. This seed grew and took root. Mere ideas transformed into plans. And plans into action. Struggle became strength. Pain became purpose. And purpose lends itself to pressure; 15 months of unyielding self-applied pressure to create nothing short of a masterpiece. A self-taught decade of music craftsmanship along with my own musical study and attention to detail, gave birth to a product in which every subtlety of sound was calculated and chosen. Every lyric was written, every musical track was produced and every vocal was performed by one man. Today there are many vocalists, producers and writers who each play their roles. On this, one man did all three, which allows for full control of the sound. In today’s music business, where corporate decision trumps artistic vision; where your favorite hits and artists are largely influenced by the calculated business decisions of label execs; indulge your spirit, mind and ears on a record with the professional audio standards of the corporate labels, yet an artist who’s in total control and who’s sound is superior. A sound who’s core is rap, yet unapologetically fused with pop. Music aside, this vision is much more than a record. It is a movement. A movement about possibility, potential and releasing the greatness of the human soul. When I look around, I see what could have been in people; what could have been if their potential was nurtured properly. I see this in myself as well and continue to transform and recapture it. I see people carrying scars and limitations of all forms. This movement is about healing them. It’s about releasing the greatness each person has within. It’s about transforming scars and limitations into assets and potential. One man’s positive changes has a ripple effect on all whom he comes in contact. Many men’s positive changes can have dramatic effects in improving the world. Personal transformation can change the world. That is what this is about. Rap has a reputation for violent lyrics, cussing and the degrading of women. My record contains none of that and in many ways is opposite. There is no cussing. There is no talk of violence and my lyrics flatter women and place them on a pedestal. Transform is also about my personal journey. A journey of change and transformation. A journey in which I have set out to overcome obstacles, heal broken relationships and release the abundance of potential that I know is within.
