Half Nothing is the debut album from 'Of X & Y', a solo project by multi-instrumentalist Evan Kennedy from Dublin Ireland. Inspired by the spontaneity and dynamics of live music, the album has many mood changing points. The album opens with the atmospheric track Stole My Soul, followed by the powerful first single release, the title track Half Nothing. Then the album moves into the melodic ballad Broken and electronica cover of The National's Anyone's Ghost followed by the more dance/rock titles Real to Me, Time To Back Down Shameless Eyes and Missile. The final track is the rock tune The Cold Air. Evan studies classical guitar and music theory in DIT Concervatory of Music and Drama, and comes from a musical background, particularly in live music. His musical influences are genres as diverse such as Jazz, Trip Hop, Metal, Rap, Progressive Rock, Funk, Drum and Bass, Post Rock, Dubstep, RnB and Folk. These influences manly came from the various styles of music heard at home and at live gigs. Along with Of X & Y, Evan is also a producer and has worked with artists such as Hip Hop duo Underdogg Squad and Alastair Daly.
