“Niška Banja” is the first release through which EXIT launches its Conscious Music Sublabel – EXIT R:Evolution. The original version of “Niška Banja” (The Spa of Niš) is a traditional Serbian song, composed a century ago. Now, globally acclaimed artist Satori joins forces with one of the vital representatives of the World Music scene in Northern-Balkans Naked and a talented rising star Tamara Kezz, breathing new life into the song's soul. This exceptional collaboration arose within the framework of the Creative Europe-supported project MOST, which channels the Southeast European region's amazing potential and exciting cultural mix into the larger European circulation. Satori is known worldwide for his unique sound, which combines traditional and spiritual melodies with electronic music. He is a Dutch artist with Serbian and South-African roots; Satori brings a deeply personal connection to the project, as his father hails from the City of Niš. Built from the complex history of ex-Yugoslavia, Serbian band Naked plays happy music about sorrow. Ideas of freedom, hope, and love have always inspired them to create music, firmly rooted in a distinctive mix of traditional Balkan, global urban, swing, funk, and free-jazz. “From the beginning, we clicked due to Satori's connection to this part of the world. Hopefully, this collaboration will bring more attention to our music, as combining traditional, World Music band with electronic music is not common in the Balkan area. We chose a completely odd-time song and rearranged it into something different; it will be a big surprise,” the band Naked emphasises. Tamara Kezz is one of the most wonderful talents on the Serbian scene in recent years. She was classically educated in piano and voice; sang and played in various live bands and traditional orchestras. She composes and produces music for theater, radio, exhibitions, performances, fashion shows, and film. The synergy of these wonderful artists infuses “Niška Banja” with a refreshed and contemporary identity.
