This little light brings together the beautiful and powerful lyric tenor voice of Grammy award-winning tenor Anthony Dean Griffey with the sublime sounds of classical guitar played in original guitar arrangements by Joseph Pecoraro. Griffey’s gift of dramatic interpretation and Pecoraro’s superb musicianship combine to give fresh and emotionally-charged renditions of these holiday gems. Griffey notes, “For me, the combination of voice and guitar has always been magical and heartwarming. Because of its way of bringing people together, and the great tradition of ‘minstrel’ storytellers, I think of the guitar as the ‘people's instrument’. As a child, I always loved story time and feel that our collaboration here expresses these stories of the season from a place of deep and soulful gratitude. The idea of creating this Christmas recording came to me while performing one of the Christmas concerts that I've given to benefit our local homeless shelter. As an artist who has been blessed with the generosity of others throughout my life, I've always found amazing joy in giving back to others. This recording is dedicated to the homeless and mentally ill of both our local and our global communities - to all those who need comforting and peace, and to the children everywhere who are seeking to find their way and their voices in the world.” Anthony Dean Griffey has captured critical and popular acclaim on opera, concert and recital stages around the world. He has performed leading roles at many of the great international opera houses, is a regular guest of the world’s leading orchestras, and has performed recitals at popular venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl and Avery Fisher Hall. Concert and recording artist Joseph Pecoraro appears frequently as solo guitarist, featured soloist with orchestra and chamber musician. His solo guitar recordings present major works ranging from time-honored gems to world-premiere compositions. Pecoraro serves as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and is in frequent demand as a guest clinician.
