Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Delgado Thompson, better known as Demo Delgado, grew up in Maxfield Avenue, later moving to Seaview Gardens. His musical talent as a child was nurtured in this small community, and the likes of Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, Wayne Smith, and Elephant Man all shared the same struggle growing up in the garrison. He began writing and recording at the tender age of 15 and saw his his first record single "For No Reason" released by Vertical Productions. At 18, he recorded several singles including the local dancehall hits "Gal Dem Bebe" and "Dem No Worry We". Demo Delgado recorded several singles for various producers including Donovan Germain and also teamed with other artists such as Sanchez, Zumjay, Mr. Easy and Wayne Wonder. When Demo Delgado first met Wayne Wonder in Kingston, Jamaica, they hit it off from the start. Later Delgado joined Wayne Wonder in New York to collaborate on "No Holding Back", the Atlantic Records album that launched Wayne Wonder as an international superstar. They co-wrote the songs "Enemies" and "Metal & Steel". The former was a smash hit and was remixed for the album "Strictly the Best Vol. 31". About twenty years after the release of his first single, Demo Delgado's recordings over the years have finally been compiled into his first-ever solo album entitled "Jack It Up (One More Time)". For the album opener, "Baby I Need You", Demo Delgado collaborated with Wayne Wonder. The deejay and the singer deliver a nice dancehall track, which was featured in the movie "Something New" starring Sanaa Lathan and Blair Underwood. Also the latin-flavored "Shake That" features guest appearances. Here it's Doxamillion, a Hip-Hop/Rap/Latin artist from Miami FL, and Hip-Hop artist Trooth, who join forces with Demo Delgado, which results in an infectious and danceable effort with a crossover appeal. The Donovan Germain produced "Never Stop Cry", which was a hit in France, is one of the best tracks of this album. On this song and - even more - on the solid combination track "Jack It Up (One More Time)" on Penthouse Records' "Extortioners" riddim, "We Vex" on Pot Of Gold's "Street Life" riddim, and "I Was Told" with Sanchez, Demo Delgado utilizes a vocal style reminiscent of Buju Banton. Ken L (aka T) from the comedy series The Parkers is present on the mediocre smooth reggae/hiphop track "To The Most High", while Wayne Wonder reappears on the decent "Dust Dem Slowly". However it's "Last Laugh" on the "Mr. Brown" riddim, another Donovan Germain produced tune, that makes the best impression.
