Adam Arcuragi

简介:Adam Arcuragi is an American born songwriter and musician from Atlanta Georgia, presently based in Philadelphia, PA. Adam's debut album (untitled) was released on High Two in 2006. Upon release of the album, Arcuragi was praised for his complex and often introspective lyrics [1] and his voice garnered comparisons to Nick Drake [2] and Mark Kozelek[3]. One of the songs from the album was featured on a Urban Outfitters Tsunami Relief compilation and written up as well as played on NPR's All Songs Considered. Arcuragi has also recorded vocals with the band Matt Pond PA. In 2008, Arcuragi recorded a La Blogoteque/Take-Away Shows in New York City with several Philadelphia based musicians, and also recorded several songs with Snow Ghost Music in Montana. With him he took musician Robbie Bennett, of the band Pepper's Ghost. Arcuragi released a 2nd full-length album titled I am become joy in September 2009. The album included collaborations with singer Dawn Landes, Jesse Elliott and J. Tom Hnatow of These United States, as well as Brian Christinzio of B.C. Camplight The backing vocals on I Am Become Joy were meant to sound like that of a ramshackle choir as though each song was tracked in a different church across the wide swath of Route 80 that cuts from southern Georgia to Mississippi. The album art was done by illustrator Peter Wonsowski who also contributed musically to several tracks on the album. Most recently, Adam recorded a Daytrotter Session in Illinois (published in late August), and toured through the Eastern United States with his band commonly referred to as 'The Revolving Door'. Adam has had articles and reviews in Paste Magazine, American Songwriter, on NPR,in The L Magazine, Magnet, The Philadelphia Weekly and The Washington Post.
