简介:An Austin, Texas native, Liz grew up in a home where rock ‘n’ roll was prohibited and absorbed the influences of her generation when visiting the homes of her friends. Here she listened and danced to the likes of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and MTV. Those opportunities awakened her heart, and her soul, to music and she began her journey to become a recording and performing artist. After graduating from high school at the tender age of 17, she left home. With a job and a dream, she saved enough money to move to Nashville where the music scene gave Liz the opportunity to meet a network of creative people, including her vocal coach, Renee Grant Williams. She also met numerous “industry experts” who offered to help develop her sound. Although excited to have professional guidance, she was constantly steered toward Americana singer-songwriter material, and Liz was a natural at this style and got to work side-by-side with great co-writers and great producers, but something essential was missing. Ultimately, she found herself making music that didn’t resonate with her as an artist. On paper, everything was perfect, but it wasn’t sparking her creative soul. While trying to figure out where she would find her way to the right path, Liz befriended a local rapper who encouraged her to add hooks and vocals to some of his hip-hop tracks. At the same time, she was turned on to electronica and house music. Suddenly, her path was becoming clearer and, for the first time in her musical life, she felt like she had found a home in the world of dance music. Her new found passion and desire to write and record dance tracks led Liz to move to Los Angeles.Pursuing that dream also meant making a living, so she took numerous jobs including being an extra on television and film sets and promotional modeling. There were times when she worked four jobs simultaneously. Unfortunately, on this first trek to LA, she didn’t make any headway musically and was running out of money quickly. At a certain point, there was no choice but to return home to Austin. Not long after her return, she got an offer to join a local band, The Ghost Band, as their lead vocalist. Theyperformed around town on Austin’s famed “6th Street,” the heart of Austin’s live entertainment scene. They played every kind of gig imaginable, including biker parties, and eventually landed a spot at the annual SXSW music conference. While Liz was enjoying performing and the band was achieving some local success, she found herself once again not connecting with the music. She knew she was still on a quest to find what was the right artistic fit for her. Her journey continued. Liz’s wanderlust to find an outlet for her music led her to return to Los Angeles and take one more crack at the scene there. With a feeling that she had nothing to lose and everything to gain, she took a leap of faith and connected, via the internet, with music industry songwriter/producer Rob Fusari (Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson) and producer Justin Trugman (P**sy Cat Dolls, Eminem, “Step Up” soundtrack). From that collaboration State of Amazing was born as well as a dozen other tracks that flowed out of her seemingly all at once as if they had been bottled up for years waiting for the perfect time to manifest themselves. Rob Fusari comments “When talent, raw creative energy and drive come together in one package you know that you have the recipe for a star to happen. Liz is on that road to greatness! “When she knew that dance music was going to be a part of her future, she realized that she needed to move on to the next level, perfecting her stage performance. She knew that in order to be seen as more than a “dance diva,” she needed to work with the best choreographer. Again, throwing fear and apprehension out the window, her ferocious work ethic and drive led her to one of the most talented young choreographers in the entertainment business, Phlex, whose resume includes staging live shows for superstars including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, as well as several memorable routines for Fox’s mega hit show, “So You Think You Can Dance.” While Liz had never studied dance, working with Phlex awakened a passion and energy that confirmed this was the music she wanted to write, record and perform. The road had been rough. She had questioned herself numerous times as to whether she should move forward or take the advice of others. The feeling she got when she danced affirmed that staying true to her individuality, believing in herself, and waiting for the feeling she was now experiencing was worth every minute of her journey. “Within one year Liz has proven to me she is the definition of a true star,” commented Phlex. “Her consistent yearning for improvement and drive for success shows that she will be an amazing entertainer in all aspects. I live by Dedication Determination Discipline Drive = Dream, and she is the perfect equation.”
