Skinner

简介:Genre: Thrash/Power Metal Norman Skinner - Vocals Robert Kolowitz - Guitars Grant Kolowitz - Guitars Jim Pegram - Bass Noe Luna - Drums Alfred Luis San Miguel - Guitars "SKINNER" was formed from the fallout of the now defunct American PowerThrash band “Imagika” in late 2010. Imagika released a total of 7 albums on multiple labels and toured in both the US as well as Europe. The band "SKINNER" was founded by 3 former Imagika members: Norman Skinner, Jim Pegram, & Robert Kolowitz. Vocalist Norman Skinner himself has released 9 studio albums world-wide and has played countless shows & tours. He has made quite an impact as a force to be reckoned with in the Metal world. Dubbed the Metal Chameleon by members of the press, Skinner possesses a very wide range and utilizes it in a unique style to effortlessly switch between the beautiful and the brutal. Mr. Skinner is a very sought after vocalist being recruited often for live guest appearances as well as recordings. Norman has shared the stagestudio singing alongside such vocalistsmusicians as James Rivera (Helstar), Andy Larocque (King Diamond), David Garcia (Cage), Lance King (Krucible), Mike LePond (Symphony X), Mark Briordy (Jag Panzer), John Macko (Fifth Angel) & many others. He can also be heard as a guest vocalist on albums with bands Legen Beltza (Spain), Katagory V (Salt Lake City, UT) & Project:Roenwolfe (Atlanta, GA). After parting ways with Imagika in 2010, bassist Jim Pegram contacted Norman and suggested a new band be formed. Jim and Norman had just wrapped up an Imagika tour for the final Imagika release "Portrait of a Hanged Man" 4 months earlier. The next member to be added was Robert Kolowitz. Robert had been writing fresh material and was eager to keep the momentum going with a new project and had previously contacted Norman about a new project. Robert is a bay area Metal veteran performing in such bands as HellHound, Blackstorm & Rapid Fire before joining Imagika. His bands have shared the stage with bands such as Slayer, Testament & even Metallica. After hearing the new material Norman agreed to the new collaboration and they contacted local drummer Ramon Ochoa. While the 4 members began working on the new material it quickly became apparent that a second guitarist would be needed to properly pull off the material live. The search was underway and auditions had begun. After many disappointing and lackluster auditions Robert brought the idea of recruiting his then 13 year old son into the group as the 2nd guitarist. The band let him audition and found he was just the person for the job. Grant has no previous band experience due to his young age but has proved to be a solid and dynamic guitarist. With the final piece in place the writing continued and live shows were announced. "SKINNER" performed their 1st show alongside the band Stryper in March of 2011 and began to gain a solid following with each live performance thereafter. The band entered Fang Recording Studios in May 2010 to begin recording their 1st effort “The Enemy Within”. The EP would consist of the 1st 5 songs written by the band and would be self-released. In October 2011 "SKINNER" concluded the mixingmastering for their 5-Song EP "The Enemy Within" and made an on-air debut of the recording on 90.5 KSJS Radio. The album was released world-wide on April 24th 2012. For the song “Breathe The Lie”, guitarist Alfred San Miguel (Harum Scarum, Punisher) was brought into the studio to lend a solo to track and weeks later was invited to perform with the band live. The 3 guitar attack added new dimensions and layers to the band’s sound and the group decided to test the waters as a 6 piece until finally announcing Alfred’s addition to SKINNER in April 2012. Shortly after this announcement the band decided to part ways with drummer Ramon Ochoa and just months later announced the addition of Noe Luna to the bands ranks. Noe Luna was a better fit for the overall band sound delivering a high energy attack that was previously missing. With the current line-up now in place 2013 saw many new live performances and lots of studio time as the band recorded their full-length effort “Sleepwalkers” due out Summer 2014. The band also worked alongside Director Mike Sloat (TestamentMachine Head) to film their 1st music video for the title track “Sleepwalkers”. The video was released to fans world-wide on March 9th 2014. Although “SKINNER” has only been in existence for a few years they have already established a solid reputation as one of the premier Metal acts in the San Francisco Bay Area.
