A true “Dan” (i.e., from the Tribe of Dan) is “Positive and Strong” musically and spiritually. A foundation member of the Reggae fraternity he started his musical career with his legendary keyboard brethren Augustus Pablo, while attending high school (Cornwall College, Montego Bay, Jamaica W.I.). Together they recorded the hit song “Kentones Rock” in the ‘70’s. Latty has worked with a number of great producers, including the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Mikey “Dread At The Controls” Campbell, where he had a popular song “Blow Mr. Latty” in Europe. Latty also did some work with Trevor Elliott on his “Musical Ambassador” label, and has released materials on the following labels as well, Tronic1 Records, RAS Records and now Massive International. Latty is also a “wicked” Melodica player and he is now working on an instrumental album; Titled: “Tribute To Augustus Pablo” in collaboration with Trevor Elliott.

Latty is no stranger to the Jamaican charts as he had songs like “Cool Down Woman, Don’t You Chuck It, Lets Go Dancing, Drugs Trafficking, et al” in the RJR/JBC charts in the mid ‘80’s. Also, in the 1980’s, Latty Guzang released is debut album, “Positive & Strong” with RAS records. In the early ‘90’s, he was nominated by New York City’s “Tamika Awards” for his hit single “Six For A Nine”. He was nominated again later in the ‘90’s by South Florida’s Reggae Soca Awards for “GOD Loves You”, hit single. Over the years he has released many singles including “Rat Trap”, “Sweet Sweet Africa”, “One Love Session”, and “Don’t Be No Kruff”, in combination with Reggae Queen Marcia Griffiths. This is a beautiful song with a strong message. He has released a number of sensational albums; “Positive & Strong”, “Lets Go Dancing”, “Forward”, “Live Good”, “One Love Session”, and “New Day Coming”, his current album.
