简介
The first song, "No Word Intended", is a blues rock song. It features electric guitar, bass, drums and piano and was the fifth song recorded. The opening/ending riff was the first riff to be made when writing this album; it got tweaked a little when recording but no major changes. The second song is "Country Riddle", a country blues song. It features electric guitar, bass, drums, triangle, Vibraslap and tambourine and was the second song recorded. It was originally longer, with another verse at the end, but it was just a repeat of the previous verse, so it got removed. The third song is "Mountain Ride", a blues rock song. It features electric guitar, drums, bass, piano and tambourine and was the first song recorded. This song has been combined by two songs to make one, as the first half was originally for the verses and chorus’s of "No Word Intended", but it didn't have a smooth transition from the riff and the second half of this song was the ending of a different song where after recording it, the last half of it was fine but the first half wasn't. Fourth song, "A Blues Connection" is a blues song. It features electric guitar, bass, drums and piano and was the sixth song recorded. When writing this, there were two songs in mind, "Cheatin Woman" and "Woman of Mine" both by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They both feature strong blues riffs, which is what, when writing "A Blues Connection", tried to write. "Rollin' Onwards" is a rock 'n' roll song, it features electric guitar, drums, bass, piano and organ and was the seventh song recorded. After listening to the completed album, the song "Dust Trail" was identical in some places to this song, e.g. "Dust Trail" begins with a drum symbol fading in and this song originally had a drum symbol fading out, so in the mixing stage a different ending was made with all the recordings that were available for this song. The sixth song is "Dust Trail", a southern rock song. It features electric guitar, bass and drums and was the fourth song recorded. This was a take on trying to write a country song, it didn't turn out exactly country, so it was put under as southern rock, but it does have hints of country e.g. there is a country guitar lick close to the end of the song. The last song, "Storm Riders" is a rock song, it features electric guitar, bass and drums and was the third song recorded. When writing this album, the thought of having a song that mostly consisted of a guitar solo was interesting, so this is what was written, with over half of the song being a guitar solo.
