1916 is the eponymous 2006 debut from the Dublin Singer Songwriter digitally remastered from original Reel to Reel master tapes to commemorate the 1OO Year Aniversary of "the uprising" with Sínn Féin art & credits and a dedication by Bobby Sands M.P. (R.I.P.***) This widely distributed & downloaded album of original songs spanning a 20 year career period of studio work compiles songs about & dedicated to the 1916 Easter rising Volunteers with dramatic arrangements and Celtic harp music rearranged for guitar on "O Carolans dream" a haunting musical epitaph for the soldiers executed at Kilmainham Jail sung in Gaelic. The studio sessions fearure several notable special guests including members of the River dance ensemble and Sedona stars Eddie Barratini (Richie Havens) and Fitzhugh Jenkins (Jazz Bedouins) on tracks recorded both in Ireland and America. There are award winning cuts on this retrospective career spanning studio album including "Love Alive" an Amnesty International song contest runner up entry And "Angel of Peace" originally broadcast live on NPR at the George Washington Marvin Center with Kennedy Center Sound Engineer Rémy Martin mixing . This 1916 album was Remastered by Chicago Producer Tim Jessup (with early songs by Karl entered in a Hot Press demo competition reaching the finals of the record deal contest judged by Jackie Hayden (U2) that were second place entry finalist with Limerick band "The Cranberries" included as tracks 14 to 16 ) .
