Jackie Hayden for "Hot Press" ; A Sedona, Arizona based singer songwriter from Dublin Ireland delivers a debut album that exemplifies why his first band on the Dublin New Wave Rock scene "Mixed Up World" were produced in the studio by Paddy Dunning (Temple Bar) & John Ó Sé (U2 Bass tech/Flex&the Fastweather) " packing in punters at Pubs such as Mc Gonagales , The Underground , The Iveagh Rooms , Baggot Inn and Temple Bars Late Night Music scene . In Washington D.C. He played D.C.Space , One Washington Circle Hotel and busked in the Metro Underground from Dupont Circle to Georgetown while studying music production at Omega Studios & this retrospective career spanning collection of songs captures the sound of his earlier band work in Dublin in the 1980's which was a hot bed of talented groups like U2, Cactus World News and The Waterboys. His singing career began with Pueri Cantores (Italian for singing boys) a church choir from Ballinteer, Dublin that toured some of the finest Catherdrals in Ireland and Europe including an invitation to sing Mass for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican which was broadcast on International Television. In the mid 1980's he was the front man for "Mixed up World" a U2 influenced rock group & performed all around Dublins Bohemian "Temple Bar" music scene . He played guitar for several project including the original "Roller Skate Skinny" alt rock band line up fronted by singer & class mate Ken Griffen before leaving for America to study at Omega Stidios. His first solo Album was released as a demo collection called HA! & became a runner up entry to Limerick band "The Cranberries" demo tape début in a nationwide battle of the bands contest run by Irelands "Hot Press" magazine. His first American concert debut was with "Skydancer" at George Washington University's Marvin Center & the Concert was broadcast by NPR radio The Washington Post reviewed writing, "the sound is reminiscent of the more spiritual music of the 6o's... guitar layered harmonies and musical lines repeating into ethereal spirals...Anton Perkins from USA Today described his music as..."exciting, electric and wonderfully original". With the 2009 release "Dublin Soul", a live solo dinner show recorded in Sedona, Noise magazine placed him on their "A list" of AZ artists. He has performed extensively in Arizona & New Mexico including Phoenix venues, Rula Bula, Fibber Magees , Skeptical Chemist, The Dubliner , O Conner's , Seamus Mc Caffreys, Rosie Mc Caffreys and notable East Coast pubs like The Dubliner at the Phoenix Park Hotel in D.C . Of his follow up Album to "1916" , (2009's) "Dublin Soul " Chris Fox Graham the Editor of Sedona's Red Rock News wrote , "Powerfull sentiments in these songs about leaving home and coming to America....the Celtic influence in his guitar work dances with his expansive tenor voice and novel lyrics that you could easily imagine entertaining crowds in any Irish Pub, American bar or coffee house,,,".
