简介

In early 2010 I was living in the touristy part of Hollywood and trying to figure out what to do next. Since releasing "One Day E.P." over a year before, I'd been living out of a suitcase and travelling between New York City, Los Angeles, and Spokane. That time was spent performing. I played solo shows in every imaginable space and in several incredible theaters and clubs with Taylor Negron. I felt very at home on stage and decided to try something I had not done before. I've always been drawn to live shows and recordings. I have been quietly recording my own performances for a long time. Usually the audience was not aware that the show was being recorded. Afterwards I felt no obligation or accountability to release the recordings, and since no one but me and the sound guy knew they existed, I usually didn't. This time, I told the audience what I was doing and advertised the show as a "live CD taping." I worked out the set list well in advance and I practiced it. The day of the show came, and I had full-on strep throat. I know this because the day before a doctor told me so and prescribed medicine for it. I was not contagious by the time of the taping, and I didn't tell anyone I was sick. I drank Throat Coat tea and didn't talk much. My throat was terribly sore and I was convinced that this was the worst idea I'd ever had. Still, I insisted to the audience that we were recording the show and that I would release it. I played seven songs that night, and five of them are on this E.P. I didn't stick to my set list. I didn't play any of the songs perfectly. But I am really proud of this album and these performances, even if I'd been feeling 100%. It is an honest record of one night of my life. Genghis Cohen's recording system back then was a simple stereo out straight to CD from the house mix. I boosted the levels and cut out most of my talking, and that's that. It was recorded on April 13, 2010, and Taylor Negron let me use one of his paintings for the artwork. I've been selling hand-made and short-run copies at live shows, and mp3's have been available for free (with suggested donation) on my website. Now it's finally going on CD Baby and the digital outlets they'll send it to such as iTunes, Amazon and many more I've never heard of. I hope you enjoy it. -Logan
