简介
We (The Hourglass) are a heavy metal/thrash metal band from Syria The band was formed in 2002 and we played few live shows until we release our first full length album (To the Land Of The Free) which was released in Syria in 2004 In 2007 we were done from recording our second full length album (Resurrection Of The Horrid Dream) which was released in Syria in the same year 2007. In 2010 we performed few cover songs and release an EP called (Ancient Hope) which contained three cover tracks and one original track In 2011 we got our first recognition internationally as we participated in a festival in Beirut, Lebanon and shared the stage with Moonspell and Katatonia The band was reviewed and interviewed by many Metal magazines and websites including Metal Hammer, Metallian, Metal Observer, Metal Storm and Blabbermouth ... etc In 2012 the band started working on a project to release a new single called Play The Pawn and the track featured two iconic voices as a special guests, Jon Oliva and Zak Stevens both vocals of Savatage and Trans Siberian Orchestra The track received a huge response locally and internationally Zak Stevens had to say the following: "It's very cool to see a band from Syria called "The Hourglass" involved in all of their tribute efforts to Savatage. It's always great to hear about bands from all over the world doing Savatage tributes, especially in the Middle East where I was not even aware that a band like this existed until now. It was awesome performing on their song "Play The Pawn" which is a duet with me and Jon Oliva on the vocals. I salute The Hourglass for being aggressive in approaching Jon and I to sing on the song and for believing in themselves and producing a song like "Play The Pawn". It's fantastic to be a part of this and I really enjoyed performing on the song. This is an example of how music transcends distance, politics, beliefs and all walks of life. We should always remember that music can bring people together from all over the world to work together and make something special. Thanks so much guys!" Soon the band will be working on a new full length album.
