"Stoot die blêddie bus" is an exciting way to see England through the eyes of a child coming to the Big City London and ending up in Oxford growing up fast! It tells the story of love left behind, happiness found along the way and the challenges of public transport. My personal favourites are: "How long can your love wait?", "Jessie" (the song about letting go of the love you thought you had!) and "Why am I sleeping alone tonight?": it is so simple and beautiful in it's simplicity. I wrote 8 of the songs in five days and later added "Stoot die blêddie bus" and "I knew her name before her face" to the collection. Brahm Potgieter- the studio engineer- later insisted on me recording "Liefde van Later"- it was a perfect match for my voice and are still one of my favourite songs to sing-I do not often record popular music I did not write myself.
