The Cornell Chordials, founded in 1997, are Cornell University’s premier co-ed a cappella group. They cover a variety of pop/rock artists and are known for their intensity and unique, edgy style. Shake the Poet, a six-track EP, is their latest project, released in November 2009. Just a few weeks after its release, their cover of 'Use Somebody' was chosen to be the opening track of the compilation album BOCA (Best of College A Cappella) 2010. Since then, Shake the Poet has

won Best Song of the Year for 'Use Somebody ' and Best Soloist of the Year for 'Cold Shoulder' in the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs). The EP was also chosen as a CASA Top Ten Mixed Collegiate Album Pick of the Year. Shake the Poet follows up the Chordials’ nationally acclaimed albums Arrival and Smash, which both had songs chosen for BOCA.
