Composed in a remote cabin in Black Canyon, AZ, I wanted to compose a "Desert Suite". Inspired by nearby Sedona, the coyotes singing their night songs, and the intense summer heat, this CD was finished ahead of schedule. "Superstition Highway" is an actual road leading out of the Valley of the Sun. With this CD i attempted to capture the extremes of the desert. "A Mirage" naturally must be followed by an "Oasis". "A Peyote Prophecy" goes hand-in-hand with "Spirit Guide", as historically, peyote users needed a shaman to lead them through the religious experience. "Nocturnal Creatures" is a direct inspiration to the nights spent on the desert floor, listening to the noises of the flora and fauna around camp. "Superstition Highway" isn't background music.
