"Drive", the sixth full-length CD from Martians on Maui is a romp around the world. Composer Pete Lamberty takes you from the comfort of your listening space to far-off places. With hints of Japan, (Dragonfly), Indonesia, (Musik Dewa), and the middle-east, (Gaza Time), "Drive" takes you on a whimsical tour of the imagination. Not that there isn't plenty of Rock in this release. "No Dice", "Poison My Wells", and "Up n Atom" provide enough front-end drive to keep you moving, while the end of the CD leads down an orchestral, and somewhat dark path, finishing with the surreal "Marco Polo Slept Here". Lamberty has proven again that his music is as intriguing as it is unpredictable.
