Trial by Fire For his first classical piano solo release Eduardo Rojas - Colombian’s premier concert pianist - chose the quintessential challenge: Ludwig v. Beethoven’s incomparable Piano Sonatas. "A road less traveled” appears to be the red thread guiding the listener through this album. Aside from the virtuoso mainstay Sonata #8 “Pathétique” in C Minor Rojas’ eclectic selection includes the sparkling youthful charm of Sonata #1 in F Minor, the boastful fun of #9 in E and the battle between agony and hope of #27 in E Minor. His trademark enthusiastic, focussed and emotional presentation of Beethoven’s music has garnered him much applause and international acclaim in live performances. Now it is available for the first time in recordings for a wide audience to enjoy. For his performance instrument Eduardo Rojas opted for a concert proven specimen of the venerable Bösendorfer 290 “Imperial” for its clear singing tone, wide range of colors and colossal dynamic range.
