My sister Diane was (and still is) a big Mike Goudreau fan and she thought that I would really like his music (which I absolutely do of course) Mike and I have a least one thing in common in addition to our love of music, it is that we hail from the same small town of Stanstead, Quebec which is right on the Canadian border north of Vermont. My first opportunity to see and hear Mike live was in Ottawa in 2006. Needless to say I was blown away by his style. During the course of that evening it dawned on me that it would be great if I could get Mike and his band to record some of my songs. That's how the album "Consumed" was born. We got together the following year and recorded the album in January 2007. Although it was a studio recording I wanted to get a live feel to it if that is ever possible. I also wanted Mike to do the vocals so as to get my songs as close as possible to how he would do them on stage. That was somewhat of a challenge because my songwritting style is more Beatles influenced than classic Blues. But being the consummate pro, Mike came through along with the help of band mates Patrick Morin (drums) and Nino Fabi (keyboard) In the short amount of time we had for the project, I'm sure you'll agree that Mike came through and delivered some passionate vocals both on upbeat and reflective songs alike. His free spirit blues emerges on "Holes in my pockets" "Too late Baby", while he get's funky on "Consumed" “You’ve got to move" and finally let's it all loose on "A good man" Hope you enjoy the music.
