Singer-songwriter Philly 5 is putting a distinct mark on the mainstream music genre. Past accomplishments include: CBC Radio top ten Christmas single of the year 'A Cry for Christmas,' which was garnered a private contract with top Publisher/song writer Justin Wilde, who has worked with such artists as Ray Charles, and Toby Keith. Philly 5 was interviewed alongside his wife; singer/author Stacey Simms, on the live television talk show '100 Huntley Street,' which was aired internationally to millions of viewers in the United States and Canada. Philly also appeared as a guest host on the night time television program 'Nite Lite Live,' where he performed the single, 'What Do You Want' from his new album: HARD PRESSED. "HARD PRESSED" is Philly 5's sophomore album. The album is written entirely by him, and is inspired from his real life experiences. Intrigue and dramatic irony are present, as every song is intrinsically relevant to the whole listening experience. The album features the UK hit "Swagger," which Philly co-wrote with two-time Grammy Nominee Fresh I.E. When asked how he feels about the album, Philly responded, "I'm very happy with it. The whole creative team has been integral in paying close attention to the overall vision that I had for the album. And it is paying off in dividends! It is raw, energetic, the lyrics are deep and the songs are catchy!" What more could you ask for? Philly is ready for more as he continues to tour North America. Recently Philly performed for CTV's Canada AM. He has appeared on morning talk shows MIX 103.9 and CHAB. Philly also had the opportunity of performing for the 2010 Sask Winter Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC.
