简介

Jeanette Arsenault released her first album, "From The Heart" in 1994 and when she released her second album entitled, "I Believe In You," in July of 2001, the most frequently asked question of "Where have you been?" was finally answered. The title track, written for her daughter, Kaitlin, helps explain her absence from the local scene. "Being a mom!" is the partial answer to the question but the talented singer/songwriter has scarcely been resting on her laurels. The rest of the answer is "writing, performing and singing." In 2001, she had the honour to sing at the Canada Day noon hour celebrations on Parliament Hill in Ottawa which received national TV coverage. In 2002, she sang at a special pre-game reception for Canadian Olympic athletes in Salt Lake City where she was also commissioned to write and perform a bilingual song which she called "Canadian Olympian". Back in 1992, Jeanette also sang her patriotic song, This Is My Canada, for HRH Queen Elizabeth II as well as performing it in various cities across Canada. In August 2004, Jeanette was invited to Athens, Greece to sing for the Canadian Olympic Team once again. She performed This Is My Canada, Canadian Olympian and she was commissioned to write and perform a bilingual song commemorating Canada's 100th year participating in the Olympic Games which she called "One Dream". Each athlete received a copy of her songs on a limited edition Athens souvenir CD entitled "This Is My Canada". She also created a limited souvenir edition for general sales. Jeanette continues to perform a little closer to home, both as a solo artist and with other Prince Edward County artists in a number of musical theatre productions that she has co-written and co-produced. In December 2004, she released her 3rd album, Arise, which is a powerful spiritual album written to uplift/inspire and which speaks, as one of her fans says, "soul to soul". This album includes excerpts from a project she co-wrote and co-produced called "11 Psalms For September 11", written to pay tribute to the Canadians who lost their lives in New York. Other songs include Angel In Disguise which was written after hearing Stephen Lewis speak of the devastation women with AIDS are facing around the world. This song is also being used by the Sisters of the Notre Dame Congregation to help raise awareness of the trafficking of women and girls around the world. Jeanette has performed the song for the Beads of Hope campaign sponsored by the United Church and at the 2004 AIDS vigil in Belleville, Ontario. In January 2005, Jeanette co-organized a Tsunami Aid Benefit Concert called "The County Cares" where 40 Performing Artists came together to donate their talents to the cause. Over 750 people attended the concert which raised $12,000 to help support the Save The Children efforts in Southeast Asia. Jeanette was honoured in 2002 with a Civic Recognition Award and Citizen of the Year Award in Prince Edward County. With about 5 albums worth of material yet to record and an "I'm-almost-eleven-now, Mom" daughter to raise, people are not only noticing where she's been, but where she's going, too.
